Vermont Corn Mazes

By Linda CassellaOct. 6, 2015

It’s that time of year in Vermont.  The leaves are turning their beautiful fall color and there’s that crisp feel of autumn in the air.  What a better time then to visit the corn mazes that we have throughout the state?

CornMaze3The Great Vermont Corn Maze in Danville, VT  in the heart of the Northeast Kingdom is one of the Top Ten Corn Mazes in America.  They are open daily (weather permitting) at 10:00 am through 10/18/15.   Make sure you get there before 1:00 pm if you want to solve the maze without any major clues.  Check out this video to see what a day at the maze looks like.  They have a new maze every year and they always add new surprises.   Get to the “bell of success” and you have made it to the end.  They also have plenty of other attractions that the whole family will enjoy. Like visiting  the barnyard animals, kid village, and 100 feet of underground tunnels. For more information visit The Great Vermont Corn Maze.

Hathaway Farm located in Rutland, VT is the biggest corn maze in Vermont and is hathawayalso ranked #2 in the nation for corn mazes for families!  Wind your way through 12 acres of corn and miles of paths to solve their “Under the Sea Maze”. This year they just added SMARTPHONE GAMES FOR THE MAZE.  You can pull up a copy of the maze right on your phone using your GPS function.  The “choose a character” option lets you see exactly where you are lost in the maze.   You’ll still be lost,  but you will be able to see yourself!  These are just some of the many things you can do as you wind your way through to the end.  For more information visit Hathaway Farm.

Corm_Maze_entry_BSam Mazza Corn Maze is located in Colchester, VT.  Bring the whole family and escape for a while as you make your way through their 3 mile corn maze. Make your way through two different mazes within one, each having their own separate entrance.  There are 12 hidden stations within the maze where you can punch your card and track your progress.  If you successfully complete both mazes, you can turn in your punch card at the end and you will become eligible for prizes such as iTunes and gas cards at the end of the season.  For more information visit Sam Mazza Corn Maze.

Gaines Farm and Kennel is located in Guilford, VT.  This year their corn maze Gaines-Farm-Corn-Maze-ⓒ-Michaela-at-TGE

features New England's Mesozoic past,  252 million years ago to 66 million years ago, when dinosaurs roamed these parts!  Weave your way through 7 acres of 10 ft. corn madness. It is a feat that the will mystify and entertain the whole family. While you’re there check, out the other attractions that they have like their haunted hayride and pumpkin bowling.  For more information go to Gaines Farm and Kennel.

After a day of trying NOT to get lost you are bound to be hungry, (possibly for corn). Don’t worry,  we have plenty of restaurants to choose from on our Vermont Restaurant and Dining Guide.

Check out the Vermont.com Calendar of Events  to see what’s happening throughout Vermont and make sure to check for current foliage conditions on the Vermont.com Fall Foliage Page.   We’d love for you to share photos of you  (un)successfully completing any or all of these mazes.

So what are you waiting for?  Load the family up in the car and try your hand at one of these great mazes and, of course, try not to get lost!!
