Must See August Events in Vermont

Vermont is a great place to be in August, so hop in the car and check out these great events happening this month.

The Northeast Kingdom is the place to be on the 2nd weekend in August. They are host to The Newport Jazz Festival.

The Jazz Festival in Newport is a three day event, starting on August 7th and finishing off on August 9th. This event is filled with local talent, Jazz Bands from Vermont and beyond! For the beer and wine lovers there are 2 events that you don't want to miss.

hops First up is the Hops in the Hills Beer and Wine Festival at Okemo Mountain Resort in Ludow on 8/7-8/9. Come and sample more than 75 craft ciders and beers from some of the regions finest brewers, as well as some fine wine. Enjoy a weekend of live music, craft vendors and some great food. If you are going to be in Stowe on August 14th-15th, make sure to check out The Stowe Brewers Festival taking place at the Mayo Events Field. There is going to be over 40 brewers with 120 different beers to sample. Enjoy a day of live music, great food and beer, free workshops and so much more. What a better way to spend a weekend then attending a traditional Indian Pow Wow. Bennington, VT is host to The 10th Annual Rock, Rattle & Drum Pow Wow. at the Vermont Veterans Home August 8th and 9th. It will be another great weekend filled with dance, music, education, arts and crafts and many other activities for the whole family to enjoy. So come on down and dance, stomp and sing. Finally what is better than a BBQ in August. The Basin Harbor Club in Vergennes, VT is hosting their 3rd Annual BBQ Bonanza on August 23rd from 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Bring the whole family for a day of afternoon activities, lawn games, great local music and of course a good old fashion BBQ. Don't eat to much BBQ because you will want to enter the Beach Berry Pie Eating Contest. Then what a better way to round out the night than the biggest bon fire East of the Otter Creek.
