Williston

We Are
Vermont.

Williston Vermont is a town located in Chittenden County, in the Burlington region of the state, just east of Burlington, the University of Vermont, and the Burlington Internaltional Airport. I-89 and Route 2 are the major roads that pass through the town.

In the 1970's, there was controversy over a proposed shopping mall, which was eventually abandoned, however today there are several "big box" stores near the originally proposed site.

The town was named for Samuel Willis, a wealthy Quaker from Long Island, and the first settler was Vermont's first Governor, Thomas Chittenden. In addition to Thomas Chittenden, other notable residents include co-founders of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, Jerry Greenfield and Ben Cohen.
