Vermont.

Strafford is a town in Orange County, of the Woodstock-Quechee region. The town was named after Benning Wentworth's cousin, William Wentworth, the Earl of Strafford, who served as an aide to the King and Member of Parliament.

Strafford was one of thirteen Vermont towns isolated by flooding caused by Hurricane Irene in 2011.

Some notable people from the area include: Edmund "Tad" Coffin, a saddle maker & Olympic equestrian; William Sloane Coffin, a clergyman & activist; and Justin Smith Morrill, a congressman & senator.
