Shoreham

We Are
Vermont.

Shoreham is a town in Addison County, of the Middlebury-Vergennes region. During the summer, a diesel-powered cable ferry connects the community to Ticonderoga, New York, across Lake Champlain.

It is said the town name came from its location on Lake Champlain, however another story is that it was named for the English town of Shoreham-by-the-Sea, located about halfway between Bristol and Portsmouth on the English Channel, and at the time was well noted as a popular boat-building center.
