Proctor is a town in Rutland County, of the Rutland-Killington region. Self-styled as "The Marble Capital of the United States," it is home to the Vermont Marble Museum and Wilson Castle.

Proctor was named for Redfield Proctor, president of the Vermont Marble Company, which was formed when a group of businessmen purchased several marble quarries & firms that had failed in the area.
