Groton Vermont is a town in Caledonia County and contains the places Groton Pond, Rickers Mills, Rickers and West Groton. William Scott, the Civil War soldier pardoned by Abraham Lincoln, known as the "The Sleeping Sentinel" was from Groton, Vermont.
