Grafton Vermont is located on Route 35 in Windham County, in southern Vermont. Known as one of the prettiest villages in Vermont, many of the beautiful old buildings have been lovingly restored by residents and the Windham Foundation, which is dedicated to preserving the vitality of Vermont's rural communities.

Once a notable stagecoach hub for traffic across the Green Mountains into Albany, New York, Grafton is home to one of the oldest continually operating hotels in the United States, The Grafton Inn, having opened its doors in 1801. Notable guests to the inn include Ulysses S. Grant, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Woodrow Wilson and Henry David Thoreau, to name a few.

Grafton is a great place to stay or visit. It is truly beautiful regardless of the season, and although very small, Grafton Vermont offers a degree of quality and sophistication seldom found in a rural community.
