Canaan Vermont is a town in Essex County, located on the Connecticut River in the beautifully scenic "Northeast Kingdom" of Vermont, an area that National Geographic selected as part of their geotourism program for sustainable destinations. Canaan contains the village of Beecher Falls, and is the northeasternmost town in Vermont, bordering both Quebec to the north and New Hampshire to the east.
