The term "American Dream" was coined in 1931 by James Truslow Adams (1878-1949), U.S. writer and popular historian, in his book "The Epic of America." In the book, he says that the American Dream is "... that dream of a land in which life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement."
To some, the American Dream can be found in Vermont.
Meet James and Zoe of Farmhouse Pottery, where not only have they been able to achieve their own American Dream, but they were able to do it in a place they can call home. "We've lived in New York city, we've lived in Boston. We love going there, but really this is home. We've sort of pulled off this American dream, you know, and it's authentic, and it's exciting."
