With two venues - The Ballroom, holding 750 and the Showcase Lounge, with a capacity of 300 - Higher Ground is able to accommodate everything from solo acoustic singer/songwriters to 20-piece funk bands. Consistently ranking among Pollstar's top 50 venues in the nation, the club is widely recognized for its professional staff and top-shelf treatment of bands and crews. First opened in 1998 in Winooski, then continuing at its current location, Higher Ground has hosted small local bands, comedy performances, movies, political fundraisers and even a GWAR-themed wedding, in addition to presenting some of the biggest touring acts out there today.
